In January 2000, he relocated to Southern California to manage the company's growth in the United States before returning to New Zealand in 2007. Valentine was no stranger to the telephone business he launched Zeacom; in 1988 he founded TelephoneTechnology Ltd, an independent telephone reseller. He built this into a $12-million company before selling to Ubix in 1993. Zeacom's aim is to improve the way businesses communicate within the contact centre and throughout the entire enterprise. The mission is to provide cost-effective Unified Communications that make high-end functions, such as Presence, Mobility and Microsoft Outlook integration accessible to small and medium-sized organisations - not just large corporates.
