The Elementary English Instructors' Certification Committee (also known as "Japan Shogakko (Elementary School) Instructors of English or "J-Shine") is a private non-profit organization established to license English instructors in Japan. In February of 2003, J-Shine applied to the Cabinet Office to become a specified non-profit corporation with the mission of supporting the spread and development of English education in Japan's elementary schools. This certificate program, as well as a series of workshops in Teaching English to Young Learners to be held throughout Japan, is offered in cooperation with Pearson Longman. Pearson Education is the world's leading educational publisher of quality resources for all ages and abilities across the curriculum, providing educational solutions for teachers and students.
