Accreditation
The DETC Accrediting Commission defines, maintains, and promotes educational excellence in distance education institutions, reviewing an institution’s mission and objectives; student services; qualifications of administrators, faculty and staff; educational program objectives, curricula and materials; admission practices, and financial responsibility. DETC accreditation helps facilitate acceptance of credits and degrees by other academic institutions. U.S. Department of Education recognition qualifies DETC institutions and students for federal aid, such as military tuition assistance, government tuition reimbursement, and Veterans Administration entitlement programs.
